Getcover & Company Limited has been at the leading edge of online insurance since its launch on the 17th March 1999.

A fully Irish owned and run company, it is the original of its kind in the Republic Of Ireland allowing Customers to arrange, and purchase, personal insurance products in a simple and painless way on-line.

The business is the brainchild of Finbarr Crotty, an insurance broker from Cork, who saw an unexploited market in on-line travel insurance. In February 2007, having successfully developed a loyal and growing client base of internet savvy travellers, the company branched into the Household market sector. Since then the company has introduced Motor Insurance to its product range.

The company has continued to innovate and grow by sticking to its core philosophies of consistently exceeding customer expectations in an approachable yet professional manner.

The locally based, Getcover team is based in Sandyford Business Park, Dublin 18.

Meet Our Team

Grainne

Grainne Callaghan CIPDivision Manager

Grainne is responsible for overseeing day-to-day management of the Company.

Over the past 12 years she has worked in a variety of insurance broking roles. This has given her an excellent technical appreciation of personal insurance risks together with customer service and team management skills.

Grainne has successfully built and manages the customer service team within Getcover.

Grainne is CIP qualified and is in the process of completing her Insurance Management Diploma.

David Semiao APACustomer Service Executive

David, is a key member of the Getcover team. He joined the company at the beginning of 2013 and since that time has developed a strong understanding of Travel, Household and Motor insurance products.

Before joining Getcover, David worked in a number of customer facing roles and he has applied that experience to dealing with Getcover customers by phone and face to face.

David handles all aspect of Household Travel and Motor insurance business from New Business to renewals to mid term alterations.

Donna Coyle APACustomer Service Executive

Donna has worked with Getcover since 2014. She has proven to be a valuable member of our customer service team with a particularly strong appreciation for personal Motor Insurance.

Prior to joining Getcover she worked in a number of other insurance broking roles and her product knowledge and skills within Motor, Household and Travel Insurance are second to none

Donna is also responsible for Household Renewal management within Getcover.

Colm Maher APACustomer Service Executive

The most recent addition to the Getcover Team, Colm has worked in the insurance industry for just over 4 years.

Colm is responsible for dealing with Motor, Travel & Household insurance customers both face to face and over the phone.

Prior to joining Getcover he worked with a leading insurance company handling Household and Motor insurance claims giving him a unique skill set which he applies to his dealings with Getcover customers.

Ryan CanavanCustomer Service Executive

Ryan has worked with Getcover since 2016 and is currently developing his experience within the personal Insurance sector. He currently deals with Household and Travel insurance business as part of the customer service team.

Prior to joining Getcover, Ryan worked in customer facing roles over a 5 year period.

He is currently completing his APA.

David Hughes BA(BS) Hons, CIPOperations Director

David has worked within insurance and other service industries for almost 30 years and his experience straddles a broad range of disciplines including Product Development; Project Management; Sales; Staff Management; and Human Resources.

He holds an Honours Degree in Business Studies; and a post-graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and has applied the knowledge he has gained to all aspects of his work with Getcover.

Within Getcover, David is responsible for Compliance Management; Product Development; Procedural & Operational Management; and Site Development Project Management.

Finbarr Crotty Managing Director

A native of Cork, Finbarr has worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years. In 1994 he moved to Dublin and established the Crotty Group from start-up, providing Insurance solutions to businesses throughout Ireland. In 1999 Finbarr set up Getcover & Company – Ireland’s first on-line insurance provider.

He is one of the founding members of the Broker Federation of Ireland (BFI), a lobby group for small to medium sized insurance brokers.

As founder, and Managing Director of Getcover, Finbarr has driven innovation within the organisation fundamental to its success.
