What you should know about your Getcover Property Insurance Policy

The information below provides useful information in relation to your policy.
However, a complete list of covers and exclusions can be found on your policy document.

Your Insurance Policy is underwritten by Aviva Insurance Limited.

Getcover & Company is an Irish owned and run Insurance broker based in Sandyford in Dublin and has been in business for over 10 years. The company is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. Our phone number is 01 290 8833.

When taking out a property policy with Getcover.ie you should carefully read the asumptions/eligibility conditions associated with the risk you are insuring. If the risk does not conform to the conditions, don’t worry, you can call us on 01 290 8833 and we should be able to organise an alternative quote for you.

If you avail of a discount because you have a Burglar Alarm on your premises, the alarm must be installed and maintained to the EN50131 Standard (old IS199). Your installer will be able to confirm this to you. Remember, in the event of a claim you may be asked to provide the required certification. Also, where you avail of an alarm discount, loss or damage by stealing is excluded unless the alarm is set and in operation when your house is unoccupied.

No more than 25% of the roof area of the property in question may be covered in flat felt and the roof area in question must be inspected at least once every two years by a qualified builder or property surveyor and appropriate repairs must be carried out.

If at the time of a loss, your sum insured for Buildings or Contents is less than the full reinstatement or replacement cost, you will be your own insurer for the difference. We will only pay our share of the loss or damage which your sum insured bears to such cost.
For example, if you underinsure your property by 50%, in the event of claim, only 50% of the claim will be met by your insurer.

All Risks covers loss of or damage to personal possessions, valuables, clothing and other belongings both in and out of the property.
This is optional cover available on Household Insurance and Owner Occupier contents policies.
