When buying Getcover travel insurance you should read all data presented to you and you should only confirm your acceptance of any Declarations when you are sure that you and all other insured parties conform with the relevant declaration.
Eligibility for this policyYou should also be aware that our policies are only available to persons who are:
No cover, including cancellation cover, will apply before cover commences.
For Single Trips cover commences from the date that the policy is paid for.
For Multi Trip policies cover commences on the start date of the policy not the date that the policy
is paid for.
Annual multi-trip policies do not provide cover for trips over 31 days in length, or 90 days in length in the case of Standard or Premium policies where you have chosen the extended trip cover option. If your trip exceeds the limit you should purchase a Backpacker policy.
Family definition
A husband/wife/civil partner or partner (who have co-habited for at least 6 months), plus any number
of their unmarried, dependent children/grandchildren (including fostered or adopted), all aged under
18 years for single trips or under 23 for annual policies, at the time of purchase of the policy,
who are living at home, in full time education. Independent travel is allowed by all persons
including children.
If the child is in full time education at a college or university in or out the Republic of Ireland and:

This is a travel policy that, subject to the terms, conditions and exclusions contained in the Policy Document, provides certain financial protection and medical assistance for your trip(s).
The levels of cover and excesses that apply are set out in the Schedule of Benefits on the Travel Validation Certificate. Certain Sections of your Policy carry an excess which means that you have to pay the first sum per person, per incident if you claim. The excess amount varies according to the Section you are claiming under.
The policy you have purchased will run for the period of insurance shown on your Travel Insurance Validation Certificate.
There is a statutory 14 day cancellation period starting from receipt of these documents.

If you purchased a Premium level Getcover policy on or after the 1st June 2019, you may be able to avail of the Airport Lounge facilities while you wait for your delayed flight.
Lounge access will only become available on the announcement of a minimum two-hour delay, not, for example, two consecutive one-hour delays.

Your Insurer is covered by the Irish Insurance Compensation Fund. You may be entitled to compensation from the fund if Your Insurer cannot meet their obligations. The Irish Insurance Compensation Fund provides funds for liquidators so that they may pay the valid claims of insolvent insurers. The fund will provide an amount up to 20,000 Euros or 90% of the net loss, whichever is lesser. You can get more information about compensation fund arrangements from the Central Bank of Ireland.
