All individuals named on a family policy can travel independently of each other. Therefore children are covered to travel separately to their parents.

However, under annual multi-trip policies, if the child is in full time education at a college or university in or out the Republic of Ireland and:

  1. Resides at the home address in Ireland for 3 or more nights of the week – we can cover that child under a family rated policy and they would be covered for any independent travel; or
  2. Resides at the home address in Ireland for less than 3 nights a week – we can cover that child under a family rated policy, but they are only covered whilst travelling with a family member insured under the family rated AMT (ie the child at university/college would not be covered for a holiday away with the girls/lads).

On the annual multi-trip policy, travel within your country of residence (Ireland and UK only) is covered provided you have 2 or more nights pre-booked accommodation.

Guided cross country skiing, heli-skiing, mono skiing, off-piste skiing or snowboarding, recreational racing, ski-blading, skiing, snow-boarding and snow sledging are all included in the Winter sports option on single trip, annual multi-trip and ski single trip options.

It is a condition of this policy that you will not be covered under the "Cancellation and curtailment" section, the "Emergency Medical Expenses and Repatriation" section and the "Hospital benefit" section for any claims arising directly or indirectly from:

  2. At any time:
    1. Any medical condition you have which a medical practitioner has advised you not to travel (or would have done so had you sought his/her advice), but despite this you still travel

They reserve the right to increase the premium, increase the excess, exclude the condition or withdraw the cover should the stability of the condition make it necessary.

Our policies include emergency medical expenses cover for pregnancy and childbirth from week 0 to week 28 inclusive whilst you are away. You should take out the policy and then phone the appointed medical pre-screening company by telephone on 01 290 8850 quoting your Policy No. They may impose an additional premium or some restrictions. If you are not happy with these conditions, you have the option to cancel the policy within 14 days of inception (Remember the person with the medical condition must make the call or a guardian in case of a minor).
