Who we are and what we can do for you
Getcover & Company Limited has been at the leading edge of online insurance
since its launch on the 17th March 1999.
A fully Irish owned and run company, it is the original of its kind in the Republic
Of Ireland allowing Customers to arrange, and purchase, personal insurance products
in a simple and painless way on-line.
The business is the brainchild of Finbarr Crotty, an insurance broker from Cork,
who saw an unexploited market in on-line travel insurance. In February 2007, having
successfully developed a loyal and growing client base of internet savvy travellers,
the company branched into the Household market sector. More recently the company
has introduced Motor Insurance and Health Insurance to it's product range.
The company has continued to innovate and grow by sticking to its core philosophies
of consistently exceeding customer expectations in an approachable yet professional
manner.
The locally based, Getcover team is based in Sandyford Business Park, Dublin 18.
Grainne Callaghan – Team Manager
Grainne is an Insurance professional who has worked in Financial Services for over
9 years. She developed the majority of her experience within Personal Lines and
as a result she has an excellent appreciation of the technical aspects of Household
and Motor insurance products.
She has also developed very strong Customer Service Management skills over the years.
As Manager of the Customer Services in Getcover she oversees and manages the activity
of the Customer Service Team as well as the development of systems and procedures

Arlene Tierney – Customer Service Executive
Having completed a Masters in Marketing, Arlene joined Getcover in 2011. Since then
she has developed her expertise within general insurance across Household, Motor
and Travel Insurance.
Leveraging her College studies, Arlene has become a key member of the Getcover Marketing
team and is responsible for on-going marketing communications within the company.
Apart from being a member of the Customer Service team within Getcover, she is also
heavily involved in handling monthly reconciliations and the management of the Direct

Louise Walsh – Customer Service Executive
Over the past 6 years, Louise has honed her experience within Personal Lines, dealing
with Motor, Household and Travel insurance as well as Commercial Motor insurance.
Prior to joining Getcover, Louise worked with one of Ireland’s leading General Insurance
Companies in a Customer Services capacity.
Apart from being a member of the Customer Service team within Getcover, she plays
a key role in overseeing the management of our motor product. Back to

MaryKate McCarthy - Customer Service Executive
MaryKate has worked within the Customers Service area for over 5 years and since
2011 she has been working with Getcover within the general insurance area dealing
with New and Renewal business on behalf of Motor, Household and Travel insurance
customers.
During her time with Getcover she has become a key resource in the management of
documentation within the company.
Apart from being a member of the Customer Service team dealing with Travel, Household
and Motor insurance, MaryKate is responsible for renewals and the management of
customer documentation in that area. Back to top
David Hughes – Operations Director
David has worked within insurance and other service industries for almost 30 years
and his experience straddles a broad range of disciplines including Product Development;
Project Management; Sales; Staff Management; and Human Resources.
He holds an Honours Degree in Business Studies; and a post-graduate Diploma in Human
Resource Management and over the past 30 years has developed his expertise within
various Service industries.
David’s work with Getcover includes Compliance Management; Product Development;
Procedural Management; and Site Development Project Management. Back

Brian Pilkington – Sales & Marketing Director
Over the past 30 years Brian has developed his career within the Insurance Industry
working with some of the largest and most successful General Broking firms in the
country.
Although his technical skills are second to none, Brian is also an accomplished
Marketeer and Sales Professional. Over the years he has fully exploited these key
skills in developing productive and fruitful streams of new business for Getcover.
Leveraging this expertise, Brian is responsible for the overall management and development
of the Sales and Marketing function within the company. Back to top
Finbarr Crotty – Managing Director
A native of Cork, Finbarr has worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years.
In 1994 he moved to Dublin and established the Crotty Group from start-up, providing
Insurance solutions to businesses throughout Ireland. In 1999 Finbarr set up Getcover
& Company – Ireland’s first on-line insurance provider.
He is one of the founding members of the Broker Federation of Ireland (BFI), a lobby
group for small to medium sized insurance brokers who, working together, have the
ability to negotiate favourable underwriting
