Who we are and what we can do for you
Getcover & Company Limited has been at the leading edge of online insurance since its launch on the 17th March 1999.
A fully Irish owned and run company, it is the original of its kind in the Republic Of Ireland allowing Customers to arrange, and purchase, personal insurance products in a simple and painless way on-line.
The business is the brainchild of Finbarr Crotty, an insurance broker from Cork, who saw an unexploited market in on-line travel insurance. In February 2007, having successfully developed a loyal and growing client base of internet savvy travellers, the company branched out into the Household insurance market providing cover for Home Owners; Landlords and tenants.
Since then, the company has continued to innovate and grow by sticking to its core philosophies of consistently exceeding customer expectations in an approachable yet professional manner.
The locally based, Getcover team is based in Sandyford Business Park, Dublin. Getcover is regularly featured in the media including The Sunday Times "Best Buys" and The Irish Independent "Good Buys" sections.
Louise Ledwidge
Louise is Operations Manager at Getcover having worked with the company for 4 years. Prior to joining Getcover, Louise worked in frontline sales roles for several years.
Since joining the company she has developed particular expertise within Personal Insurances. She is responsible for the day-to-day running of Getcover.ie and oversees the call centre operation.
She holds an honours degree in International Commerce and German from the UCD Quinn School of Business and has completed the Certified Insurance Practitioner insurance qualification.
When she gets a break from being a busy mum she loves to travel. Some of her most memorable trips have been to Latin and South America. Back to top
Fiona Butler
Fiona is a Senior Supervisor at Getcover having worked with the company for over 3 years. However she has developed her career over 7 years within customer services and front line sales. Over the past 3 years she has developed an enviable knowledge of the Travel and Home insurance sectors.
Fiona is a Certified Insurance Practitioner.
Fiona enjoys Shopping, socialising and a good night out with the rest of the team!
Fiona and her team are available at the Getcover call centre to assist customers in arranging cover and dealing with any of their web queries. Back to top
Lorraine Toner
Lorraine has worked with Getcover for the past year, but has several years previous experience within customer service and retail environments.
Having studied the Travel and Tourism sector at College she made an immediate impact in her role as Travel Insurance executive. Since joining the company she has expanded her knowledge base to include technical skills within Household insurance.
Lorraine is currently completing her Certificate of Insurance practice.

Finbarr Crotty
A native of Cork, Finbarr has worked in the insurance industry for over 25 years developing his career within the General Insurance sector. Prior to establishing the Crotty Group, Finbarr worked with one of the Country’s Largest General Insurance Brokers where he developed a strong industry knowledge.
In 1994 he moved to Dublin where he drew on his entrepreneurial spirit, establishing the Crotty Group from start-up, providing Insurance solutions to businesses throughout Ireland.
Finbarr’s key relationship management skills have allowed him to develop close working relationships with clients while his experience across all general lines of business has given him the ability to quickly recognise and cater for their requirements.
He is one of the founding members of the Broker Federation of Ireland (BFI), a lobby group for small to medium sized insurance brokers who, working together, have the ability to negotiate favourable underwriting premiums for their clients.
Finbarr is also the Managing Director of Get Cover & Company Limited Irelands first on-line Insurance provider catering for the Personal Insurance sector. Back to top
Brian Pilkington
Over the past 25 years Brian has developed his career within the Insurance Industry working with some of the largest and most successful General Broking firms in the country giving him an excellent technical grounding within the insurance sector.
Although his technical skills are second to none, Brian is also an accomplished Marketeer and Sales Professional. Since joining The Crotty Group in 2002 he has fully exploited these key skills in developing productive and fruitful streams of new business for the company across all general lines.
He has enjoyed particular success in developing business within the Professional Indemnity area as it is one of his core strengths and this is now one of the cornerstones of the business.
Brian has also fostered close working relationships with product producers here in Ireland and Internationally, allowing The Crotty Group to boast access to an enviable portfolio of insurance markets.
Brian is a co-director of Get Cover & Company Limited, Irelands first on-line Insurance provider catering for the Personal Insurance sector. Back to top
David Hughes
David has worked within insurance and other service industries for over 28 years and his experience straddles a broad range of disciplines including Project Management; Sales; Staff Management; and Human Resources.
David holds an Honours Degree in Business Studies; a post graduate diploma in Human Resource Management; and is a Certified Insurance Practitioner.
His work with Getcover includes developing, refining and maintaining systems and procedures to ensure the smooth running of the business together with the development and management of new products and other site development projects.
David is a keen DIY enthusiast and spends a lot of his spare time on home improvement projects. Back to top
