FAQs for Companies

Q.1 Why should I have a health insurance group scheme?

A.1 Most companies already have a health insurance group scheme in place. Survey after survey shows that employees see health insurance as one of the most valuable benefits offered by an employer. In an increasingly competitive employment market non cash benefits like Health Insurance are excellent recruitment and retention tools. Apart from this a healthy and unstressed workforce has a positive impact on productivity and morale and reduces absenteeism and staff turnover.

Q.2 How many employees do I need to start a company scheme?

A.2 A group scheme can be set up for companies wishing to cover three or more people. It's a straightforward process; you can either switch from your existing insurer today or you can set up a group scheme by contacting us if you do not have one in place at present.

Q.3 Can I choose the start date for our group scheme?

A.3 Yes, you can choose a start date that suits you best and we will work closely with you to choose this date when we are helping you to set up your group scheme.

Q.4 Is there a specific date that our company's payments must be debited on each month?

A.4 It's up to you! You can choose the date that you want your account debited on, so you can stay in control of your health and your finances.

Q.5 Is there a lot of paper work setting up a health scheme?

A.5 Starting your health scheme couldn't be simpler. You choose your plan, your start date and select a payment option that suits you best, send us the details of the people on your scheme and that's it, you're covered.

Q.6 Can I make changes to our company scheme during the year?

A.6 Once your group scheme has been set up, you can add new members or make changes at any time online allowing your administration to be simplified and recorded in real time. Employees can be added to your group scheme online, as there is no application forms with the unique advantage of a paperless direct debit.

Q.7 Will we have dedicated point of contact?

A.7 Yes, we believe in offering a first class service. You will have a dedicated account manager from our sales team who will assist you throughout the year with any administration queries you may have.

Q.8 Can my employees add their dependants to their policies?

A.8 Yes, that's no problem. Who pays for employees dependants is at the discretion of your company. If you/your company choose to pay for your employees dependants your employees simply give their dependants' details to you or your scheme administrator who add dependants to your scheme on-line.
If you/your company are paying for the employee only, your employees simply call us and we can make the additions to their plan. In this case we apply 'split billing' to your membership, so the company would pay its contribution and the employee would pay the balance directly.

Q.9 Is it possible to have a higher level of cover than the company is paying for?

A.9 Yes, that's no problem either! In this case your employees contact us directly to change their cover. By adding split billing to your membership, the company pays its contribution and the employee pays the balance for the upgrade directly.

Q.10 If a company pays for their employees' health insurance are the employees liable for Benefit In Kind?

A.10 Unfortunately for employees BIK is relevant when an employer is paying their employees health insurance (or a percentage of it). The employee is liable for tax on the portion that the employer pays. However the BIK liability is usually a fraction of the cost of a health insurance plan.
